Our Story

Wheels of Old LTD can trace it’s roots back to 1981 when William Galliers first started his own business buying repairing and selling sports cars, in the early years Triumph sports cars were a speciality, by the mid 80’s Datsun 240Z sports cars also featured heavily and became a speciality through to the mid 90’s, during this period a great friendship and business relationship was struck up with Spike Anderson / Samuri conversions as William had started to import rust free cars from California, this relationship lasted until Spike closed Samuri conversions and retired to Spain.
Our current premises in Frodesley was purchased in 1987 and workshops set up to deal with both body restoration and mechanical rebuilds. In the early 1990’s a source of WW2 Jeeps was discovered [ always a passion of William’s] and the business became more and more involved with Jeep sales and restoration this remained the core activity of the business until all main sources of supply dried up in 2008. Jeeps are still always present in our stock as with Datsun 240z’s.
In 2002 it was decided to form a LTD company & Wheels of Old LTD was born, the company branched out to hold a more general stock of classic vehicles, this mainly includes sports cars from the 1950’s to the 1980’s many still sourced in dry American states due to the lack of rust! Classic and vintage motorcycles have also become part of the core business with a passion for Norton OHC machines.
We take pride in offering a straightforward traditional and honest service and have a wealth of knowledge and experience and although we now tend to only work on our own stock , with the facility to deal with most aspects of repair & restoration, we have excellent outside resources to be able to deal with almost all aspects of engineering, upholstery and manufacture of unavailable items.
Vehicle transport has always been essential to our business and we offer a collection/ delivery service as well as shipping to places further afield.
